The star-studded 25th anniversary concert of Les Misérables, which took the stage at London’s O2 Arena last October 3, will air stateside on March 6 on PBS.
The concert cast features teen pop idol Nick Jonas as Marius, Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Norm Lewis as Javert, Matt Lucas as Thénardier, Jenny Galloway as Madame Thénardier, Katie Hall as Cosette, Ramin Karimloo as Enjolras and Samantha Barks as Eponine. The concert also features a company of over 300, including members of the original 1985 London cast as well as the current casts from London's West End and the New 25th Anniversary Production, which is touring the U.K. For those looking to watch the concert a little earlier, the DVD version of Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert at The O2 will be released in the U.S. on February 22.
Seen by over 56 million people worldwide in 42 countries and in 21 languages, Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Miserables features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and additional material by James Fenton. The original 1985 production was adapted and directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. The New 25th Anniversary Production and the O2 Concert are directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell and designed by Matt Kinley.
