The Cast of Gruesome Playground Injuries on Why Love Hurts

From childhood trips to the school nurse to hospital room visits as adults, Doug and Kayleen’s friendship seems to swirl around the bloodier incidents in their lives. Rajiv Joseph’s darkly funny love story Gruesome Playground Injuries tracks, through a series of non-linear scenes, the 30-year friendship of two people who reenter each other's lives when one is injured but can somehow never quite connect.
