Full casting has been revealed for the previously announced new musical, Prometheus Bound, starring Gavin Creel, at Cambridge's American Repertory Theater. Directed by Tony nominee Diane Paulus (Hair) and featuring music by System of a Down's Serj Tankian and lyrics and book by Tony winner Steven Sater (Spring Awakening), the musical will run from February 25 through April 2.
DeLaria has appeared on Broadway in On the Town and The Rocky Horror Show. Her off-Broadway credits include Happy Days, The Vagina Monologues and Little Fish. Aduba was last seen on Broadway in Coram Boy and off-Broadway in The Seven. Carvjal's Broadway credits include Tarzan, Dracula, 42nd Street and Cats. Cunio has appeared on Broadway in Hairspray and in the Chicago production of Jersey Boys. Ebert was seen on Broadway earlier this season in Brief Encounter and in last year's Red. Lampert's credits include The Daughters and The Last Goodbye.
Prometheus Bound, inspired by Aeschylus's ancient Greek tragedy about the suffering of Western civilization's first prisoner of conscience, illustrates one man's struggle against the brute force of a ruthless dictator. It will premiere in A.R.T.’s new club theater Oberon, which Paulus calls a "second stage for the 21st century," designed to immerse the audience in an environment "that has the Dionysian energy and rebelliousness of a rock concert."
