Tony Award winner Cynthia Nixon and her partner of seven years, Christine Marinoni, welcomed baby boy Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni to the world on February 7, according to People.com.
Education activist Marinoni gave birth to their son, the couple’s first child together. “Christine and baby are doing great,” reps for Marinoni told the magazine. The couple announced their engagement in 2009 and intend to tie the knot when gay marriage becomes legal in New York. Nixon has two children with former partner Danny Mozes.
Best known for her role as Miranda Hobbes on HBO’s Sex and the City, Nixon has appeared on Broadway in The Real Thing, Hurlyburly, Angels in America, The Last Night of Ballyhoo and Rabbit Hole, for which she won a Tony Award. Her most recent stage appearance was in Roundabout Theatre Company's 2009 off-Broadway production of Distracted.
