Billie Joe Armstrong Wins Grammy for American Idiot Broadway Cast Album

Green Day frontman has picked up another Grammy Award, this time in the category of Best Musical Show Album. The original cast recording of American Idiot, produced by Armstrong, took home the trophy at the Los Angeles award ceremony on February 13, beating out recordings of A Little Night Music, Fela!, Promises, Promises and Sondheim on Sondheim.
American Idiot opened on Broadway at the St. James Theatre on April 20, 2010. Armstrong is currently appearing in the musical in the role of St. Jimmy through February 27, 2011.
