For almost two full seasons, the teens of McKinley High have covered the songs of pop and Broadway greats, but the Glee cast will have original music to sing beginning March 15, according to EW.com. Two songs penned specifically for the series, "Loser Like Me" and "Get It Right," will be included on Glee: The Music Volume 5, available March 8.
"Loser Like Me" is an ensemble piece co-written by Max Martin, who has worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Pink and the Backstreet Boys. Rachel (Lea Michele) will sing "Get It Right" as a solo ballad. Going along with the theme of new music, the episode will be titled "Original Song."
Glee airs Tuesdays on Fox. Glee: The Music Volume 5 will also include songs recently featured on the show such as "Firework," "Sing" and "Take Me Or Leave Me" from Rent.
