Matthew Morrison will duet with Glee recurring guest star Gwyneth Paltrow on his upcoming debut solo album, according to EW.com. The duo will sing "Over the Rainbow," a song Morrison has previously performed on the hit TV series. Morrison's self-titled album is set to hits stores May 10.
Despite their onscreen chemistry, Morrison revealed he was at first shy about asking Paltrow to join him in the recording studio. "The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her," the Tony-nominated actor said. Even though he's previously recorded a solo version of the song for a Glee compilation album, Morrison hopes the new track will surprise fans. "People kind of know me for that song now," he said. "I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it. It’s a lot of strings, and it’s beautiful."
Can't get enough of Paltrow and Morrison together? The Oscar-winning actress will again reprise her role as substitute teacher Holly Holiday on Glee's April 19 episode.
