Tony nominee and Broadway.com's 2009 Star of the Year—and new dad!—Constantine Maroulis will return to his American Idol roots on April 7, when he stops by to perform on the hit reality show. He will take to the Idol stage for a live results show, following an April 6 episode in which the final nine contestants will perform songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Maroulis is currently on the road with the Rock of Ages national tour, reprising the Broadway leading role for which he earned a Tony Award nomination. The Season four finalist isn’t the only alum to go back to the Idol stage this season. Season three winner Fantasia Barrino, also a Broadway vet, recently dropped by and performed her new single, “Collard Greens and Cornbread.”
