Fans Hope to See Katie Finneran Lead The Real Housewives of Broadway

Broadway.com recently chatted with Bravo's Andy Cohen about the possibility of the Real Housewives franchise extending its reach to Broadway. So we asked our readers which talented ladies of the Great White Way they'd like to see star on The Real Housewives of Broadway. (Cohen's top choice, Kristin Chenoweth, was not included in our poll.) The votes are in, and two-time Tony winner Katie Finneran landed in the top spot with 28% of votes. Finneran, who scored her second Tony last season for Promises, Promises, is also the new mom of a baby son, Ty, with her actor husband Darren Goldstein.

Readers would also welcome seeing Tony nominee Orfeh lead some onscreen drama. The Legally Blonde star landed in second place with 23% of votes. Orfeh is married to her Blonde co-star and Wicked veteran Andy Karl.

Tony winner Idina Menzel followed in third place with 13% of votes. Menzel tied the knot with her former Rent co-star Taye Diggs in 2003.

Two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone knows all about playing a crazy wife, thanks to her latest Broadway outing in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. LuPone earned 10% of votes.

Rounding out readers' dream cast is another actress with experience playing a troubled housewife, Next to Normal's Alice Ripley. The Tony winner pulled in 6% of votes.
