Oscar winner Marisa Tomei and Tony nominee Alison Pill are on tap to appear in an HBO pilot from Oscar-winning screenwriter and playwright Aaron Sorkin, according to Deadline.com. The actresses are currently appearing on the New York stage in Marie and Bruce (Tomei) and The House of Blue Leaves (Pill).
Sorkin’s new show, tentatively titled More As This Story Develops, stars Tony nominee Jeff Daniels as a cable news anchor. Tomei would play the executive producer of Daniels' show, with Pill as an associate producer. Also in negotiations is former Daily Show correspondent Olivia Munn as a sexy financial analyst on the same network.
Deadline.com reports that Tomei met with Sorkin, creator of the long-running drama The West Wing, when he visited New York and saw her performance in the New Group’s off-Broadway revival of Marie and Bruce. Theater vet Emily Mortimer is also a contender for Tomei’s role.
