Tony nomination morning is always exciting, but inevitably some high-profile actors and productions are overlooked by the nominating committee. We asked readers to vote for which 2011 Tony snub they were most upset about.
Coming in first was Daniel Radcliffe, who plays charming and cunning J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. A total of 27% of fans agreed that his Broadway musical debut was the most egregious oversight in the Best Actor category.
Coming in second place with 21% of the vote was Catch Me If You Can leading man Aaron Tveit, whose portrayal of con man Frank Abagnale Jr. was also passed over in the Best Actor category.
Rounding out the top three was the musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert, with 13% of the vote. Though the show received nominations for Tony Sheldon’s performance as Bernadette and its elaborate costume design, it did not receive a nod for Best Musical or recognition in any other categories.
