Despite already having seven Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards to her name, Anything Goes’ Sutton Foster was delighted to take home yet another trophy as this year’s Favorite Actress in a Musical Award winner. “It doesn’t matter [how many awards I receive], it’s always so sweet,” she said backstage after receiving the big news.
“It’s all very surreal,” Foster continued. “Broadway.com is my favorite website, especially for theater, so to be recognized by the fans is an honor.” The actress was also glad to see the Audience Choice Awards hold its first ever ceremony this year. “This is so fun,” Foster, who also served as a presenter alongside her former Thoroughly Modern Millie co-star Gavin Creel, exclaimed. “It’s relaxed, and the whole ceremony has a real sense of play to it.”
Foster delivered a gracious speech to the awards show crowd after her victory, but does her Anything Goes character, nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, have anything to say to the fans? “I’m nothing without you,” she purred in a sensuous voice.
