Get ready for your daily dose of Mormon as Broadway.com continues our monthlong The Book of Mormon video series. As Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez, the composers of the hit musical, began workshopping the show, they needed to find the perfect actors to take on the roles of the central Mormon missionaries. Lopez recommended The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Daily Show veteran Josh Gad for the gig. Parker and Stone were instantly taken by the comedic actor and, after years of writing for their own voices on South Park, were excited to craft the character of Elder Cunnigham around Gad's considerable comedic talents. Take a look below to see what the team had to say about Gad (who recently earned a Best Actor Tony nod for his performance).
