In the final days leading up to the 2011 Tony telecast, Broadway.com is posting videos of favorite Tony memories of this year’s nominees, with their own commentary. Joshua Henry, a Best Actor nominee for The Scottsboro Boys, recalls the exuberance of performing at the 2008 ceremony as an original cast member of the year's Tony-winning musical In the Heights.
“I didn’t actually start watching the Tonys until I moved to New York, but I soon realized the importance of being honored. My favorite memory was performing in 2008 doing '96,000' from In the Heights. At the end we were all just standing there, looking out at Radio City Music Hall, and my heart was beating at least 170 beats a second. It was so exhilarating!”
