Luck Runs Out for New Musical Lucky Guy; Show to Close Early

Lucky Guy, the country musical journey through the streets of Nashville, is set to close early. The show, written and directed by Willard Beckham, will play its final performance on May 29, 2011 at off-Broadway’s Little Shubert Theatre. At the time of its closing, the production will have played 23 previews and 14 regular performances.

Lucky Guy began performances on April 28 and opened on May 19. It stars Kyle Dean Massey as a simple country boy who wins a songwriting contest and heads to Music City, USA in search of a gold record. Also featured in the cast are Savannah Wise, Leslie Jordan, Varla Jean Merman, Jenn Collella and Jim Newman.

The musical was originally scheduled for a 12-week run through July 25.
