The Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera will welcome new principals to the cast this summer. Phantom tour veteran Kyle Barisich begins performances as Raoul on June 6. Jessica Bishop takes on the role of Meg on July 4, and Michele McConnell assumes the role of Carlotta beginning on July 11.
Barisich has played Raoul in the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera. Bishop appeared as Meg on the national tour of Phantom and made her Broadway debut in the revival of West Side Story. McConnell made her Broadway debut in the ensemble of Phantom.
Phantom currently stars Hugh Panaro in the title role, Sara Jean Ford as Christine Daae, Sean MacLaughlin as Raoul, Liz McCartney as Carlotta, Heather McFadden as Meg, George Lee Andrews as Monsieur Andre, David Cryer as Monsieur Firmin, Marilyn Caskey as Madame Giry and Evan Harrington as Piangi.
Featuring a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Phantom of the Opera became the longest-running show in Broadway history on January 9, 2006, and has since played an additional 2,200 performances at the Majestic Theatre.
