In the final days leading up to the 2011 Tony telecast, Broadway.com is posting videos of favorite Tony memories of this year’s nominees, with their own commentary. To kick off the series, Sutton Foster, a Best Actress nominee for Anything Goes, recalls the 1991 ceremony and a dance number choreographed by Tommy Tune.
“When I was 16 years old, I remember vividly seeing Keith Carradine and the lineup of girls in tambourine hats performing the ‘Favorite Son’ line dance from The Will Rogers Follies. I turned to my mother and said, ‘I could do that.’ Just a couple of years later, I got to do it on the show’s national tour.”
