In the final days leading up to the 2011 Tony telecast, Broadway.com is posting videos of favorite Tony memories of this year’s nominees, with their own commentary. Rather than toot her own horn as a 2008 Tony winner for Gypsy, Laura Benanti (nominated this year for her show-stopping performance as Candela in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) salutes her Gypsy and Women on the Verge co-star, Patti LuPone.
“I will never forget the moment when the entire audience at Radio City Music Hall leapt to its feet after Patti LuPone sang ‘Everything’s Coming Up Roses.’ I had goosebumps on top of goosebumps. Amazing!”
