Tony winners Laura Benanti and Katie Finneran will host the Creative Arts portion of the Tony Awards on June 12, according to Variety. The segment will begin 30 minutes prior to the ceremony's live telecast from the Beacon Theatre on CBS.
In past years awards for categories such as directing, choreography, score and book of a musical, as well as design categories, have been included during the Creative Arts timeframe. No details have been revealed about which awards will be presented during the pre-broadcast event. Clips from the un-aired segment are often later incorporated into the live ceremony.
Benanti is a Tony nominee this year for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. She previously received a feature actress Tony for Gypsy and earned nominations for Into the Woods and Swing! She will appear in the cast of the upcoming NBC series The Playboy Club.
Finneran earned her second Tony Award last year for Promises, Promises. She previously took home a Tony for Noises Off! She will lead the new Fox TV comedy I Hate My Teenage Daughter beginning this fall. Finneran will also perform alongside Tony host Neil Patrick Harris and their starry co-stars from the New York Philharmonic's production of Company.
