An original cast recording of Lincoln Center Theater’s current production of A Minister’s Wife is on tap from PS Classics. The musical, which will end its limited engagement on June 12, will be recorded on June 26 and released later this summer.
Featured on the recording will be the five-member cast of A Minister’s Wife: Liz Baltes, Kate Fry, Drew Gehling, Marc Kudisch and Bobby Steggert. The show features music by Joshua Schmidt, lyrics by Jan Levy Tranen and a book by Austin Pendleton and is directed and conceived by Michael Halberstam. The album will be produced by PS Classics co-founder Tommy Krasker, who also produced the original cast recording of Schmidt's Adding Machine.
Based on George Bernard Shaw’s Candida, A Minister’s Wife explores the fires burning beneath the surface of a seemingly ordinary marriage. The Revered James Morell (Kudisch) and his wife, Candida (Fry), are happily married—or so they think, until a romantic young poet, Marchbanks (Steggert), enters their life.
