The Broadway revival of John Guare’s The House of Blue Leaves will close on June 25 at the Walter Kerr Theatre, after 21 previews and 72 regular performances. The play, which stars Ben Stiller, 2011 Tony nominee Edie Falco and Jennifer Jason Leigh, opened on April 25 and had been set to run through July 9.
In addition to Stiller, Falco and Leigh, the cast of David Cromer’s production includes Thomas Sadoski, Alison Pill, Mary Beth Hurt, Broadway.com Fresh Face Christopher Abbott, Halley Feiffer, Susan Bennett, Jimmy Davis and Tally Sessions.
The House of Blue Leaves centers on Artie Shaughnessy (Stiller), a zookeeper and wannabe songwriter who is trying to cope with a schizophrenic wife (Falco), an impatient girlfriend (Leigh) and a visit from the Pope, all while sustaining his dream of hitting it big.
