Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles on Broadway, will play its final performance at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on September 4, after eight previews and 341 regular performances.
The show’s original 13-week engagement opened on October 26, 2010, at the Neil Simon Theatre, and was scheduled to run through January 2. After closing on that date to accommodate the previously scheduled Catch Me If You Can, Rain re-opened on February 8 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
Rain stars Joey Curatolo, Joe Bithorn, Ralph Castelli and Steve Landes. Part concert and part theater, the show sets the mood with ‘60s film footage and television commercials, and four actor/musicians become John, Paul, George and Ringo to play the music of the Beatles live, from their early days and breakout appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show through later albums such as Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Abbey Road and Let It Be. The currently running national tour of Rain is scheduled through spring 2012.
