Marc Kudisch, Anthony Rapp, Robert Lopez and more will participate in the return of Don't Quit Your Night Job, a comedy variety show that combines Broadway and improv. The show will play Le Poisson Rouge for one night only on June 30 to benefit the Theatre Development Fund.
Also scheduled to appear are Alison Cimmet (Baby It's You), Jordan Gelber (All My Sons), Asmeret Ghebremichael (The Book of Momon), Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Jason Kravits (The Drowsy Chaperone), Neil McAffrey (Billy Elliot), Maurice Murphy (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Roberto and Edwin Olvera (Pilobolus), Sandy Rustin (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change), Ephraim M. Sykes (Memphis) and Alex Timbers (director of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Don't Quit creators Steve Rosen, David Rossmer, Sarah Saltzberg and Dan Lipton are also set to participate.
The show, which combines music, sketches, improv and offbeat performances, began as a one-time benefit in 2006 at Joe's Pub and then extended for 10 months. An off-Broadway production followed the next year at the Zipper Factory and ran through 2009. Past participants include Huey Lewis, Hank Azaria, Julianna Margulies, Bebe Neuwirth, David Hyde Pierce, Patrick Wilson, Kelli O'Hara and more.
