The cast for the currently filming screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages is already uber-starry, and according to In Touch magazine, a special guest has just been added to the lineup: Suri Cruise! The five-year-old and actress mom Katie Holmes have already been hanging out on location in Miami while dad Tom Cruise films his role as over-the-top rocker Stacee Jaxx in the Adam Shenkman-helmed movie. Suri's cameo, the details of which have yet to be announced, will be her screen debut.
In addition to her A-lister dad, Suri’s co-stars will include Alec Baldwin as club owner Dennis Dupree, Russell Brand as club employee and narrator Lonny, Bryan Cranston and Catherine Zeta-Jones as the Mayor of Los Angeles and his ultra-conservative wife, Julianne Hough as Kansas-transplant Sherrie, Mary J. Blige as strip club owner Justice, Paul Giamatti as the manager of Stacee’s band and newcomer Diego Gonzalez Boneta as leading man Drew.
Rock of Ages is set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, where small town girl Sherrie meets a big city rocker at the Bourbon Room, L.A.’s most famous rock club. Their love story is told through the hits of Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, Asia, Whitesnake and many more. The Broadway musical, which is now running at the Helen Hayes Theatre, received five Tony nominations (including Best Musical) after opening on April 7, 2009. The movie is expected to hit theaters on June 1, 2012.
