Christie Brinkley, who recently wrapped up a stint on Broadway in Chicago, has postponed her previously announced West End debut in the show. Brinkley was set to join the show's London company for a four-week engagement beginning July 11, but she has delayed due to her mother, Marge Brinkley, being admitted to a hospital to undergo an emergency medical procedure. No rescheduled dates have been announced at this time.
“I am very sorry for the inconvenience and changes to the schedule in London," Brinkley said in a statement. "I thank my producers and new cast mates for being so flexible and understanding and I look forward to giving it my all in dedication to my loving, generous and supportive parents who set me on this ‘Broadway adventure,’ which now leads me to London’s prestigious West End, when my Dad said, ‘Take it!’”
When Brinkley was debating joining the Broadway production of Chicago, her father, who is unable to speak, wrote the words "take it" on a sheet of paper, which Brinkley hung in her dressing room at the Ambassador Theatre.
Brinkley made her Broadway debut in Chicago earlier this year. Brinkley's acting credits include National Lampoon's Vacation, National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation and episodes of Ugly Betty, Mad About You and her own series Living in the '90s - With Christie Brinkley. She is best known as a supermodel who has graced the covers of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit editions, Vogue, Rolling Stone and Cosmopolitan as well as numerous ad campaigns, including Cover Girl.
