Tony Award winner Karen Olivo will join the cast of NBC’s Harry’s Law, the legal series starring Kathy Bates, for the show’s second season, according to EW.com. Olivo reported to the set on July 11 to begin her role as a hotshot lawyer hired by Bates, who plays pistol-packing defense attorney Harry Korn.
In other casting news, two-time Tony nominee Alfred Molina will jump from the now-cancelled Los Angeles version of Law & Order for a three-episode arc on Harry’s Law as a murder suspect.
A Tony winner for playing Anita in West Side Story, Olivo most recently appeared on the New York stage in By the Way, Meet Vera Stark. She starred as Vanessa in In the Heights and appeared on Broadway in Brooklyn and Rent. Olivo had a recurring role as a law student in The Good Wife before being tapped by David E. Kelley for Harry’s Law.
