It may be summer, but class is in session for Nilaja Sun as her acclaimed one-woman show, No Child..., returns to off-Broadway's Barrow Street Theatre. In No Child... Sun channels a variety of personalities at a New York City public school. From substitute teachers to restless students and the custodial staff, Sun examines the current state of the education system through her various characters, including her own stint as a visiting theater pro cajoling the teens to appear in a play. Broadway.com recently caught up with Sun and director Hal Brooks to chat about Sun's inspirations for the show and why audiences should enroll in No Child... today.
