Nicolas Cage is eyeing a Broadway debut in a revival of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, according to the New York Post. Cage would play mental patient Randle Patrick McMurphy.
Based on Ken Kesey's 1962 novel of the same name, Cuckoo's Nest first opened on Broadway with an adaptation by Dale Wasserman on November 13, 1963. A 2001 production starring Gary Sinise and Amy Morton won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play and earned Sinise a Best Actor nomination. The 1975 film adaptation, directed by Milos Foreman and starring Jack Nicholson, earned five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Cage won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas and earned a nomination for Adaptation.
