The talented young theatrical couple Mamie Gummer and Benjamin Walker were married on July 16, according to reporter Roger Friedman of showbiz411.com. A Restoration Hardware registry for the couple confirmed that the ceremony was scheduled to be held in Salisbury, Connecticut, where Gummer’s parents, actress Meryl Streep and sculptor Don Gummer, have a home.
Unspecified sources told Friedman that the “very small and private wedding” was held outdoors, with no celebrity guests and a “regular wedding band.” Gummer’s sisters Grace and Louisa reportedly served as bridesmaids.
Gummer recently starred in the off-Broadway comedy The School for Lies and has been featured as a defense lawyer on TV's The Good Wife. Walker, who played the title role in the Broadway musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, has just finished portraying a different president in the forthcoming movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The bride and groom met while co-starring in the Broadway revival of Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
