Audiences are used to seeing four-time Tony nominee Raul Esparza in the theater district, but now the actor is heading uptown in the new film GWB. The film, whose title is an abbreviation for the George Washington Bridge, takes place in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood and follows two young boys who find themselves in trouble after burying a trash bag full of money. Esparza plays a hostile thug who pursues the boys in hopes of finding the cash. GWB will be featured as part of the New York International Latino Film Festival beginning August 15. The film also features Broadway veteran Olga Merediz, who knows plenty about the neighborhood thanks to her Tony-nominated turn in In the Heights. Want to see Esparza get mad?
