In preparation for Zarkana, the brand new Cirque du Soleil spectacle currently running at Radio City Music Hall, the legendary theater was transformed into a fantastical world full of spider-web and forest-filled sets, high-flying trapeze work and eye-popping acrobatics. On July 24, CBS Sunday Morning’s Maria Teichler went behind the scenes of this massive operation, visiting everything from Cirque’s two-acre costume shop to a sports arena in Orlando, the only space large enough to accommodate rehearsals of the $50 million production. From performers to makeup artists, costume designers to acrobatics coaches, the CBS video provides an in-depth look at what makes the Cirque machine work.
