For fans of Lea Michele—Broadway veteran, star of screens big (New Year’s Eve) and small (Glee) and soon-to-be Harper’s Bazaar cover girl—news of her ambitious nature will come as no surprise. “I don’t stop,” Michele said in an interview with the magazine, appearing online and in the September issue. “It’s my nature. People have to tell me to slow down.”
In a recent Broadway.com poll, readers told Michele exactly that! Voters thought Michele should take some well-earned time off after her equally ambitious Glee character graduates from high school next year, but Michele has other plans for her future.
“I plan on playing every role on Broadway,” she said. “I want to do Evita. I want to do Sweeney Todd with [Glee costar] Chris Colfer. We want to do Wicked. I’ll be Elphaba and he wants to play ‘Guy-linda.’ I want to do movies, make music. Glee is only the beginning.”
Whatever her plans, Broadway will surely welcome back the veteran of Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Ragtime and, of course, Spring Awakening, with open arms.
