Stephen Ashfield and Ben Freeman will join the cast of Legally Blonde on the West End on October 10, playing Emmett Forrest and Warner Huntington III, respectively. They join current leads Carly Stenson (Elle Woods), Natalie Casey (Paulette) and Peter Davison (Professor Callahan).
Ashfield’s West End credits include playing Bob Gaudio in the original London production of Jersey Boys and Boy George in Taboo. Freeman has appeared in Dreamboats and Petticoats on the West End. His other stage credits include The Sounds of Music, Beauty and the Beast and Same Time, Next Year.
Directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, Legally Blonde features music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and a book by Heather Hach. The show won the 2011 Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
In addition Stenson, Casey and Davision, the cast of Legally Blonde includes Jon Tsouras, Georgie Ashford, Lucy Miller, Nathan Pinnell, Tricia Adele Turner, Chris Ellis-Stanton, Danielle Steers, Abiona Omonua, Ellie Kirk, Gemma Sutton, Sorelle Marsh, Nick Hayes, Chloë Brooks, Lincoln Stone, Robbie Towns, Gregory Sims, Tamara Wall, Ross Hunter and Tara Young as well as Fabian Aloise, Henry Davis, Jane McMurtie, Ruthie Stephenson and Carolyn Maitland as swings.
