Original Rock of Ages cast member Jeremy Woodard will step into the role of over-the-top '80s rock star Stacee Jaxx in the metal musical beginning October 3. He takes over for current Jaxx, MiG Ayesa, who will plays his last performance on September 25.
Woodard has understudied the role of Stacee Jaxx since performances began on Broadway on March 17, 2009. In addition to Rock of Ages, Woodard’s theater credits include Glory Days, Hairspray, and Miss Saigon.
Along with Woodard, the cast of Rock of Ages features Rebecca Faulkenberry, Dan Domenech, Mitchell Jarvis, Adam Dannheisser, Cody Scott Lancaster, Michele Mais, Josephine Rose Roberts and Bret Tuomi, along with Tessa Alves, Joey Calveri, Ericka Hunter, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Jennifer Rias, Andre Ward and Emily Williams.
Rock of Ages is set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, where a small town girl meets a big city rocker in L.A.’s most famous rock club. Their love story is told through the hits of Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, Asia, Whitesnake and many more. The musical received five Tony nominations, including Best Musical.
