The West End production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert will play its final performance on December 31 at London's Palace Theatre. The musical opened in March of 2009 and will play its 1,000th performance on September 3.
Based on the popular film of the same name, Priscilla Queen of the Desert follows three drag queen friends as they set off on a road trip across the Australian Outback to perform at a casino, where one of the men hopes to reconnect with his young son. The show made its world premiere in Sydney in October 2006 before transferring to London. The current Broadway production opened on March 20, 2011 at the Palace Theatre. Directed by Simon Phillips, the musical features a book by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott as well as classic music from the likes of Donna Summer, The Weather Girls and more.
London's Priscilla currently stars Dan Gallagher as Bernadette, Richard Grieve as Tick and Oliver Thornton as Adam. Ray Meagher will return to the show in October as Bob.
