Tony winner Lea Salonga will be among the judges of the 60th annual Miss Universe Pageant, which will be broadcast from Sao Paulo, Brazil, on September 12. Bravo TV’s Andy Cohen and Today news anchor Natalie Morales will co-host the competition, which features contestants from nearly 90 countries competing in swimsuit, evening gown and interview categories.
Salonga, who recently chatted with Broadway.com editor in chief Paul Wontorek on Show People, is a part of a panel that includes former Miss Universe Amelia Vega, race car driver and Dancing with the Stars champ Helio Castroneves, TV news personality Connie Chung, model Isabeli Fontana, actress Vivica A. Fox and Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Adrienne Maloof.
Salonga won a Tony Award in 1991 for her performance in Miss Saigon, and has also appeared on Broadway in Flower Drum Song and Les Miserables. She is famous for voicing the title Disney character in Mulan and Princess Jasmine in Aladdin.
