Tickets are now available for the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell, starring Weeds' Hunter Parrish as Jesus. Directed by Daniel Goldstein, performances begin October 13, with opening night set for November 7 at Circle in the Square Theatre.
"I’m so excited to be back,” Parrish told Broadway.com of his return to the Broadway stage. "There’s such a community here. I hope that people who like Weeds will also like what Godspell is about, which is sharing the love.”
The revival marks the first Broadway production of Godspell since its original run transferred from off-Broadway to Broadway more than 30 years ago, closing at the Ambassador Theatre on September 4, 1977, after 527 performances. The musical features classic songs including "Day By Day," "By My Side" and "All For the Best."
The cast of Godspell also features Wallace Smith as Judas, Anna Marie Perez de Tagle, Uzo Aduba, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Telly Leung and Lindsay Mendez.
