Learn to Speak Chinglish With David Henry Hwang and His Bilingual Broadway Cast

We weren’t sure what to expect when we caught up with Tony-winning playwright David Henry Hwang and the cast of Chinglish at a September 12 press event for their brand new Broadway show. As we chatted up Hwang, director Leigh Silverman and cast members like Gary Wilmes, Jennifer Lim and more, we got an inside look at the show’s mangled-language inspiration and the unique challenges of bringing a cross-cultural, bilingual show to the stage. Of course, we also had to ask about their favorite Chinglish-isms, and we were definitely not disappointed. Chinglish begins performances on October 11 at the Longacre Theatre. Check it out!
