Complete casting has been announced for Bonnie & Clyde, the new Broadway musical from Frank Wildhorn. Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan will star as the title outlaws, and will be joined on stage by Melissa Van Der Schyff as Blanche Barrow, Claybourne Elder as Buck Barrow, Joe Hart as Sheriff Schmid and Louis Hobson as Ted Hinton. The show will begin previews at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on November 4 and opens on December 1, directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun.
Rounding out the cast will be Leslie Becker, Mimi Bessette, Alison Cimmet, Daniel Cooney, Jon Fletcher, Victor Hernandez, Sean Jenness, Katie Klaus, Michael Lanning, Garrett Long, Matt Lutz, Marissa McGowan, Cassie Okenka, Justin Matthew Sargent and Tad Wilson.
Bonnie & Clyde features music by Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black and a book by Ivan Menchell. John McDaniel will provide musical supervision, orchestrations and arrangements. In a press statement, Calhoun called the show “a love story that is both compelling and sexy, distinct from the film and yet faithful to these personalities who remain such a part of the American landscape.”
Van Der Schyff has been seen on Broadway in Big River, and regionally in Bonnie & Clyde, Pippin, An Italian Straw Hat and Zhivago. Elder’s off-Broadway credits include Road Show and One Arm. Hart has appeared on Broadway in The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public, and Hobson’s Broadway credits include Next to Normal and The People in the Picture.
Bonnie & Clyde will be produced on Broadway by Kathleen Raitt, Barry Satchwell Smith, Jerry Frankel, Jeffrey Richards and Michael Jenkins.
