Hadley Fraser will play Raoul opposite previously announced stars Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess (who co-starred on the London stage in the Phantom sequel Love Never Dies) in a forthcoming live broadcast of The Phantom of the Opera from Royal Albert Hall. The fully staged production, featuring more than 200 original and current cast members, is being presented to mark the show’s 25th anniversary in London.
In addition to Fraser, Karimloo and Boggess will be joined by Keira Duffy as Carlotta, Daisy Maywood as Meg Giry, Barry James as Monsieur Firmin, Gareth Snook as Monsieur Andre, Liz Robertson as Madame Giry, Wynn Evans as Piangi and Sergei Polunin as Slave Master.
Fraser is currently playing Javert in Les Miserables on the West End, and played Grantaire in last year’s Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert at the 02 Arena. His other theater credits include Assassins, The Far Pavilions, The Shaughraun and Pacific Overtures, as well as The Pirate Queen on Broadway.
As previously announced, a two-disc album of Phantom’s 25th anniversary celebration will be recorded and released in November. The production will also screen in movie theaters nationwide live on October 2, with rebroadcasts on October 5, 6 and 11. A DVD of the broadcast will be released on November 14.
