The Atlantic Theater Company's Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling, a world premiere play from Adam Rapp, opens on October 3 at off-Broadway's Classic Stage Company. Featuring a cast led by Emmy winner Christine Lahti, Cotter Smith, Reed Birney and Betsy Aidem, the limited engagement runs through October 30.
Directed by Atlantic Theater artistic director Neil Pepe, Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling follows Dr. Bertram (Birney) and Sandra Cabot (Lahti) as they invite longtime friends Dirk (Smith) and Celeste Von Stofenberg (Aidem) to their Connecticut home shortly after the Von Stofenbergs' only son is released from a private psychiatric hospital. When Sandra enlists Dirk to help her change the course of her life, the sky turns a strange color, Canadian geese start crashing into the bay window and the fate of the evening tilts toward an inevitable conclusion that promises to change the lives of all who came to the table.
The cast also features Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Shane McRae and Katherine Waterston. Be sure to catch this new production from one of America's most-talked-about dramatists.
