Godspell star Telly Leung has signed on to become Broadway.com’s newest video blogger. In Godspell According to Telly, Leung will bring viewers backstage at the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell.
Even before the show's first preview on October 13, Leung is catching all the Godspell action: His first video entry will follow the cast as they leave their rehearsal space at the Ballet Hispanico and head to Circle in the Square Theatre. Look for the first episode to air on October 6 on Broadway.com, with new episodes every Thursday.
In Godspell, Leung will play one of the devoted followers of Jesus (Hunter Parrish) alongside co-stars that include Wallace Smith, Lindsay Mendez, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle and more. Leung made his Broadway debut in Flower Drum Song. He has also appeared on Broadway in Pacific Overtures and Rent and originated the role of Boq in the Chicago production of Wicked. Last season Leung served as a leading member of the Dalton Academy Warblers opposite Darren Criss on TV's Glee.
Godspell begins performances October 13 at the Circle in the Square Theatre with an official opening night set for November 7.
