Asuncion, a new play written by and starring Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Zombieland) begins performances October 12 at off-Broadway's Cherry Lane Theatre. Directed by Kip Fagan, the production also stars The Hangover's Justin Bartha, Remy Auberjonois and Camille Mana. Opening night is set for October 27.
The play follows two roommates named Edgar and Vinny. Edgar runs a blog condemning American imperialism while Vinny is three-quarters into a Ph.D. in Black Studies. When a young Filipina woman named Asuncion becomes their new roommate, they have a perfect opportunity to demonstrate how open minded they truly are.
Asuncion is part of the Rattlesnake Theatre's 2011-2102 season.
