Venus in Fur, Starring Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy, Begins Broadway Run

Performances are set to begin on October 13 for the sexy comedy Venus in Fur, starring Tony nominee Nina Arianda and movie favorite Hugh Dancy. Manhattan Theatre Club’s production of this smart new play by David Ives will open on November 8 at Broadway’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, directed by Walter Bobbie.

Inspired by an infamous 19th century novel, Venus in Fur shows what happens when an ambitious young actress shows up to audition for the playwright/director of a period piece with erotic overtones. As the playwright finds himself drawn into a more active role in the audition, the tables are turned and lines blurred between fantasy and reality.
