Oscar nominee Angela Bassett is back on the boards opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the Broadway premiere of Katori Hall's The Mountaintop. To mark this starry event, Broadway.com asked readers which of Bassett's many memorable screen roles is their favorite. Take a look at the results below!

Bassett won a Golden Globe and earned an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of legendary R&B singer Tina Turner in the biographical film based on Turner's own memoir, I, Tina. Bassett starred opposite Laurence Fishburne as Turner's ex-husband, Ike Turner.

Based on Terry McMillan's popular novel, How Stella Got Her Groove Back follows a successful but over-worked San Francisco stockbroker who takes a much needed vacation to Jamaica. She soon sparks a romance with an attractive younger man who lives on the island, played Broadway veteran Taye Diggs in his feature film debut.


Tanya, Akeelah and the Bee (2006) - 11%
Bassett reunited with her What's Love Got To Do With It? co-star Laurence Fishburne in this heartwarming family drama, playing the mother of a young Los Angeles-area girl who competes in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
