Nearly 30 years after scoring a Tony for originating the role of Dreamgirls' Effie White, the hit musical was still a hot topic as Jennifer Holliday stopped by The Wendy Williams Show on October 17 to promote her new album, God is Faithful. The conversation wasn't completely pleasant, though. Holliday discussed how she was snubbed by the creative team of the 2006 Dreamgirls film adapation when she wasn't asked to participate in the film in any capacity (Holliday's original co-star Loretta Devine made a cameo in the film). Holliday also notes that the film's star Jennifer Hudson never reached out to her for advice, nor did Oprah Winfrey give her a call when the talk show queen organized a TV special on the show. Yikes! Hudson may have taken home an Oscar for her work, but Holliday proved she still has those Effie pipes when she took to Williams' stage to belt out the Dreamgirls' anthem "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going," Take a look at Holliday's chat with Wendy and her performance below!
