It takes a special show to remain a hit on Broadway for a decade—and when Mamma Mia! reached that milestone on October 18, creator and producer Judy Craymer pulled out all the stops! The festivities began onstage at the Winter Garden Theatre before the performance, when NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg personally presented Craymer with a “Mamma Mia! Day” proclamation. The entire audience was treated to a glass of pink champagne during intermission, and after the show, the stars sang an ABBA encore outside before a huge crowd on Broadway, which had been blocked off for the occasion. A fireworks display (!) was followed by a swanky celebration at Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain that continued into the wee hours.
