Three award-winning writers, Ethan Coen, Woody Allen and Elaine May, have teamed up to bring an unusual show to Broadway: Relatively Speaking, a trio of one-act plays, opens at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on October 20. Film favorite and frequent Coen Brothers collaborator John Turturro directs the project, which features screen stars Steve Guttenberg, Marlo Thomas, Julie Kavner and many more.
The dark comedies that comprise Relatively Speaking find common ground in the branches of the (dysfunctional) family tree. In Talking Cure, Coen uncovers the sort of insanity than can only come from family. In George Is Dead, May explores the hilarity of death, and in Honeymoon Motel, Allen takes you to a cheesy hotel suite to celebrate the sort of wedding day you won’t soon forget.
Relatively Speaking also features the talents of Katherine Borowitz, Caroline Aaron, Jason Kravits, Danny Hoch, Mark Linn-Baker, Bill Army, Grant Shaud, Patricia O'Connell, Ari Graynor, Lisa Emery, Allen Lewis Rickman and Richard Libertini. See them on stage soon!
