An exciting new play described as “a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse” is on tap at Lincoln Center Theater. Performances of J.T. Rogers’ Blood and Gifts begin on October 27 at the Mitzi Newhouse Theatre, with opening night set for November 21, directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher.
This spy vs. spy drama begins with a CIA agent arriving in Pakistan in 1981 to provide covert funding to Afghan freedom fighters. Also in the mix are English and Russian secret service agents, Pakistani military officers and U.S. politicians. Blood and Gifts is written with both the past and present situation in Afghanistan in mind.
The cast of LCT's off-Broadway production includes Michael Aronov, Jeremy Davidson, Robert Hogan, Tony winner Jefferson Mays, Andrés Munar, Rudy Mungaray, J Paul Nicholas, Paul Niebanck, John Procaccino, Liv Rooth, Gabriel Ruiz, Pej Vahdat Andrew Weems and Bernard White.
