While New Yorkers shivered through the aftermath of a freak October snowstorm, Broadway vets Caissie Levy and David Reiser were getting married in style in Miami Beach. The happy couple, whose October 30 wedding made the Sunday New York Times Style Section, exchanged vows at the Soho Beach House in a ceremony presided over by Rabbi Stanley J. Garfein and Daniel Reiser, the groom’s rabbinical student brother.
As the Times noted, Levy, 30, and Reiser, 31, have been dating since October 2006, nine months after they first met outside the stage door of the Merriman Theater in Philadelphia, where Levy was playing Penny Pingleton in the national tour of Hairspray. Currently starring in the West End production of Ghost, she has appeared on Broadway in Hair and in the L.A. production of Wicked.
Reiser, who appeared on Broadway in Good Vibrations and in the national tour of Mamma Mia!, is currently working in London as a production scout for Marc Platt Productions.
Levy’s former Hair co-star Gavin Creel tweeted a photo of the menu from the wedding reception, which included the following message: “In support of Marriage Equality for all, the newlyweds have made donations to Broadway Impact and the Florida Chapter of the Human Rights Campaign in honor of their wedding guests.” Mazel tov!
